About Us
We love Pinot Noir, it’s our favorite wine, it is what we drink. That’s why we embarked on this adventure. There is challenge to making Pinot and that appealed to us. Pinot is an honest wine, and not a varietal that hides mistakes well.
The decision to make wine was not a snap decision. Years ago we stumbled upon a Glen Ellen tasting room by accident when we were staying in a nearby B&B. Two and a half hours later, we left with a deep appreciation for what Pinot can become in the hands of an artist winemaker and a dream that one day we would be able to produce our own wine. Fast forward many years, and a few attempts to create the right team for this adventure, we were standing in a vineyard, looking at the fruit that would become our first bottling.
We decided the wine needed to represent who we are and where we came from. We struggled for months to come up with a name for our wine. In the end, we decided on Styler, the name of the place we met. We spent a magical summer there as undergrads at UCLA, getting to know each other, and laying the groundwork for what would become a decades-long partnership and marriage.
We had the time of our lives at Styler, and we want to bring that same magic to every bottle of wine we make. Here’s to discovery and the road that lies ahead. Cheers!
